The role of parks and sanctuaries in protecting India’s biodiversity

Sh. Anant Pande from WII-ENVIS centre participated in the conference on “The role of parks and sanctuaries in protecting India’s biodiversity” organized by University of Chicago Centre, New Delhi and Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. Major inputs on role of Protected Areas from keynote speakers were gathered during the interactions in the conference. Several speakers also presented information gathered from WII-ENVIS centre website especially on protected area cover, protected area maps etc.

 

WII-ENVIS centre also benefitted from some new insights given on the role of Protected Areas in the country towards biodiversity conservation.
