Visit of Vantage Hall Girl’s Residential School Dehradun to Wildlife Institute of India


Students of Vantage Hall Girl’s Residential School, Dehradun visited Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun on 15th February, 2019. The visit was focussed on exploring ‘Wildlife and Research’ as a career option for the students. A total of 17 students of class XI along with their teachers Ms. Neha Bhardwaj and Ms. Grace Swindler visited the institute. This event was coordinated and organised by the ENVIS team. The visitors were welcomed to by Ms. Sounika Karmakar, Programme Officer, ENVIS-WII.

Dr. Vishnupriya Kolipakam, Scientist-C, Wildlife Institute of India gave a presentation on “Wildlife and Research”, wherein she spoke on various career options which can be explored in wildlife and also how various subjects are linked to the field of wildlife. A short documentary titled ‘Birds of Paradise’ was also screened for the students. This was followed by an interactive session between Dr. Vishnupriya Kolipakam and the students. Thereafter, Amir Mohiudin Lone, GIS Officer, ENVIS-WII took the students to the Nature Trail walk inside the campus.
