The XIII WII-Friends of the Doon 'Wildlife & Environment Quiz 2015'– a collaborative activity of Wildlife Institute of India and Friends of Doon Society was organized on 01st October, 2015 at Wildlife Institute of India to mark the celebrations of the Wildlife Week 2015. Twenty two schools from Dehradun and Mussourie participated in the preliminary round. The preliminary round had 30 Multiple Choice Questions with 2 Marks for every correct answer and negative marking of -0.5 for every wrong answer. 8 Stared questions were part of the questions as tie breaker questions. Top Five scorers in the Preliminary round were adjudged finalists. The Schools selected for the finals were Ann Mary School, Scholars’ Home, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School, Marshall School and Doon International School qualified for final round.
The final quiz had six rounds viz Know Your Uttarakhand, Biogeography, Acronym, League of Legends, Pancha-Mantra and Rapid Fire Round. Ann Mary School topped the list and won the WII-FoD Sameer Ghosh Memorial Nature and Wildlife rolling trophy, Shield and Book Prize. Marshall School won second prize and Scholars’ Home won the third prize and received WII-FoD Book prizes.
Sh. Jairaj, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Uttarakhand graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes to the Winning Team.
