The XII WII-Friends of the Doon’ Wildlife & Environment Quiz 2014’– a collaborative activity of Wildlife Institute of India and Friends of Doon Society was organized on 01st October, 2014 at Wildlife Institute of India to mark the celebrations of the Wildlife Week 2014. Twelve schools namely St. Thomas’ College, Doon Blossoms, Ann Mary School, Welham Girls’ School, Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy, Hilton’s School, Hopetown Girls’ School, Heritage School, Carman Residential & Day School , St. Jude’s School ,Universal Academy and Marshall School participated in preliminary round. Five teams Ann Mary School, St. Thomas’College, Hilton’s School, Carman Residential & Day School and The Heritage School qualified for the final round.
The final quiz had six rounds viz. Know your state, Geo Logic, Peeping in the Past, Dekho aur Bujho, Biogeographic Zones, What’s Up, Natural World Heritage Sites rounds. Ann Mary School topped the list and won the WII-FoD Rolling Trophy, Book Prize and Sameer Ghosh Memorial Nature and Wildlife rolling trophy. St. Thomas’ College won second prize and Hilton’s school won the third prize and received WII-FoD Book prize. Dr. Alok Saxena, Additional Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes to the Winning Team.
