The X WII-Friends of the Doon’ Wildlife & Environment Quiz 2012’– a collaborative activity of Wildlife Institute of India and Friends of Doon Society was organized on 01st October, 2012 at Wildlife Institute of India to mark the celebrations of the Wildlife Week 2012. Fifteen schools namely Asian School, St. Thomas’ College, Summer Valley School, Doon Blossoms, Ann Mary School, , Welham Girls’ School, Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy, Hilton’s School, Doon Cambridge School, Convent of Jesus & Mary, Doon School, Hopetown Girls’ School, St.George’s College, Carman School Premnagar & Jaswant Modern Senior Secondary School participated in preliminary round. Six teams Summer Valley School, Doon Blossoms, Ann Mary School, Welham Girls School, Doon School, and Hopetown Girls’ School qualified for the final round.
The final quiz had six rounds viz Uttarakhand, Guess who, Audio Visual, Landscapes, Brain Strain and Current Events as Rapid Fire Round. There was a special round for audience also. Ann Mary School topped the list and won the WII-FoD Rolling Trophy, Book Prize and Sameer Ghosh Memorial Nature and Wildlife rolling trophy. Doon School won second prize and Welham Girls’ School won the third prize and received WII-FoD Book prize. Dr. Padam Prakash Bhojvaid, Director, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes to the Winning Team.
